How to help Kids Develop Positive Life Choices.

Leading by example is one of the best ways parents can help their children make positive choices. Most of what kids learn during early childhood is gleaned from the input of others. The more important a person is to the child, the more critical their input. Use this guide as a starting point for thinking about how to model positive behaviors for your kids.

Modeling Charity

Parents should model charity to their children. This negates selfishness while helping to develop compassion for those less fortunate. Introducing the concept of empathy is a great way to teach children about charity from a young age.

Getting Active Together

Regular exercise helps increase brain health, maintain a healthy weight, and decrease the risk of multiple diseases. Make exercise a habit by getting active with your children. For example, consider taking a short walk around your neighborhood each day after dinner and before beginning your family’s bedtime routine. Take your children hiking, swimming, or bicycling. Another fun idea is to search for active classes, such as dance or martial arts, that your family can participate in together.

Seeking Higher Education

Help your children understand it’s never too early to start thinking about what they’d like to do as adults. Discuss their dream careers and how to best achieve them, whether it be college, technical school, or a certification course. Model the benefits of higher education for your children by enrolling in an online degree course.

If you’ve always wanted to work with young children, a Bachelor of Science in Education (BSED) is an excellent choice. Online schooling allows you to pursue your degree at a pace that works best for you, between your other responsibilities.

Promoting Acceptance

Children aren’t born racist, sexist, or otherwise discriminatory. Promote acceptance in your children by modeling this behavior in your interactions with all people, especially those different from you. Teaching your children about racism and other types of hate is also essential.

As your kids get older and are exposed to certain things outside the home, they’re likely to have many questions. When talking about sensitive topics, such as racism, sexism, sexuality, and gender, be mindful and loving with the language you choose. It is important for building trust in your relationship that you develop the communication tools necessary to talk about difficult subjects.

Avoiding Illicit Substances

A national survey showed there were 136.5 million alcohol users in the United States during 2020. During this same period, 59.3 million people over 12 admitted to using illicit drugs at least once. These statistics prove all children are likely to eventually be confronted with the harsh realities of substance abuse. Peer pressure is one of the leading reasons children experiment with drugs and alcohol. One study found that teenagers think about the risks and rewards of their actions, but they’re more likely to ignore the risks than adults.

The best way to help your children avoid peer pressure is to model positive behaviors at home and keep an open conversation on the topic. Be honest with your children about the harmful effects of alcohol or drugs. Explain what peer pressure is and why it’s essential to be strong in those moments.

Help Kids Make Positive Life Choices

You can help your children make positive life choices by providing an excellent example for them to follow. By doing so you’ll be instilling within your children the tools that they’ll need to grow into healthy adults.

God’s fingerprints on all of His creations.

“I find it incredibly amazing how at every sunset, the sky is a different shade. No cloud is ever in the same place. Each day is a new masterpiece. A new wonder. A new memory.”

When our life is filled with the desire to see the holiness in everyday things, something magical begins to happen.  A feeling of  peace emerges. We begin to see nurturing aspects of our day that everything has God’s fingerprints on it, that alone makes it special. If we remember this spiritual fact while we are dealing with a difficult person or struggling to pay our bills, it broadens our perspective. It helps us to remember that God also created YOU ( a person) with a purpose for  YOU to deal with challenges and despite your struggle to pay your bills, this types of challenges should always broaden our views and at that moment, we should reflect and realize how truly we are  blessed to have all that  ability to overcome and generate our daily needs.

It’s easy to see God’s beauty in a beautiful sunrise, a snow-capped mountain,  the smiling of a healthy child, or in the ocean waves crashing on sandy beach.  But can we learn to find the holiness in seemingly ugly circumstances- difficult life lessons, a family tragedy, or a struggle for life.  If only we have a strong faith and trust His divine plans ahead of us in the future.

Remember WE are living in a fathomless sea of infinite riches. Your subconsciousness is very sensitive to your thoughts. Our thoughts form the mold or matrix through which the infinite intelligence, which is a GOD’s gifts to all people, come with wisdom, vital forces,  and energies of how our subconscious flow works.  The practical application of laws of our mind’s  illustration in each of  life experiences, It is a GOD’s gift to every human being that can allow anyone of us to  turn poverty into abundance; superstition, and ignorance into wisdom; pain for peace; sadness for joy; darkness for light, discord for harmony; fear for confidence and faith;  failure for success. Certainly, we can all agree that our blessings have to do with how each person uses their mental, emotional, and material standpoint, then we can come to realize and understand that we all have GOD’s fingerprints in our human capabilities. All it takes is believe, commitment, and right action.

PRACTICE HUMILITY!

Humility and inner peace go hand in hand.  The less compelled you are to try to prove yourself to others, the easier it is to feel peaceful on the inside.

“There’s nothing more POWERFUL than  a humble person with a warrior spirit, driven by a bigger purpose.” – unknow Author

Wanting to always prove yourself is a dangerous trap of pride and ego. It takes an enormous amount of energy to be continually pointing out your accomplishments, bragging; these actually dilute the positive feeling you receive from a feat or something you are proud of. To make matters worse, the more you try to prove yourself, the more others will avoid you,  talk behind your back about your insecure need to brag, and perhaps even resent you.

Ironically, however, the less you care about seeking approval, the more approval you seem to get.  People are drawn to those with a quiet, inner confidence; people who don’t need to make themselves look good, or be right all the time, or steal the glory. Many people virtually love a person who doesn’t need to brag about his or her laurels, but a person who shares his or her heart and not his or her ego.

The way to develop genuine humility is to practice. It’s nice because you will get immediate inner feedback in the way of calm, easy feelings.

The next time you have an opportunity to be humble, endeavor to do it earnestly, and don’t brag about it. Instead, remember the following statement:

“A person can achieve anything by being simple and humble. ” – unknown.
